M-Shifting (2-5 months) ** This is just a rough estimate, same goes for all stages

So have you basically researched everything you need to know in your F-shift? Have you also learned what goes on in P-shift (best to know early!) Time for M-shift!

This is the part where you act like your mermaid self. How about these scenarios, I think these'll help:

You reached the coast of your home country after a long vacation with your pod. After shifting into legs, you bid farewell to your friends and walk/drive/fly home. Once you come home, you hug your parents (regardless they know or not) telling them about your vacation. They tell you have dinner waiting for you, and when you come to the table, you find...

You are on a fun trip with your friends. You stare in awe at the wonderful sights this country had to offer, and you soaked in the glorious sun which brightened your mood. You study the foreign people, how their dialect sounds in your ears. All the details of a new world...

I know I've only gotten 2, but they're just some examples. Now with those ideas in mind, how will you carry this out? Since you're changing your mindset to that of a mermaid, you need to act like one, of course! Here are some tips!

~ ( ^_^ ) ~

Acting - Since you're still human, you're not going to 100% act like a mermaid. It sounds strange, but if you're really going to pretend that like you don't understand your schoolwork 'cause you're a mermaid, well, that is going to ruin your everyday life~ Here are some ways to exercise that mermaid soul!

  • Draw oceanic scenes or other bodies of water with different landscapes.

  • Strengthen your musical talent! Play your favorite instrument (I play the violin ^^) or just sing!

  • Dream about you and some mershifters/friends frolicking on an island. Lucid dreaming/Astral-shifting helps!

  • Keep an open mind about your surroundings and schoolwork (Now that sounds terrible, but mermaids are curious creatures)

  • A fun tip from TSC, but volunteer! One of my fav activities, this will help you with your mermaid social skill/talent/whatever ya like to call it!

  • You don't have to act for this, but be your extroverted/introverted self! We do know that mermaids, like other aquatic animals, are social, but don't change who you are (unless you discover your mermaid side to be somewhat different)

  • PHANTOM-SHIFTING will also work for this stage, too, not just P-shift! You basically picture your tail and how it would feel and look.

Eating - Don't immediately transition into a pescatarian diet! You are going to make yourself sick and your stomach is going to question "What?". Like others say, just incorporate seafoods into your diet. If you already eat a lot of fish and shrimp in your daily diet (like me!), then you're fine! If you are eating a pescatarian diet, you are already ahead!

There is a separate page for diet since I want to elaborate more on it! I'll even link to TSC's food page 'cause there are dozens of easy, ocean-inspired recipes! :)

*** Some people are allergic to specific types of seafood which can seriously limit your choice of being a type of mermaid. Like if you can't eat shellfish (shrimp, crab, lobster) than you can't be an open-ocean. You have to stay closer to the coasts of land.

Looking - Honestly, people have a different POV on this, but I'm here to narrow down on what's necessary. Looking like a mermaid is a minor trigger, but here are some ways to acheive this look:

  • Put pictures of any body of water, beaches, tidal pools, waterfalls, undersea kingdoms (if you want to), etc. in your room (Doesn't pertain to your body, of course, but to your room for visual effects!)

  • Keep your hair somewhat healthy and your scalp clean. You don't have to color it into a "mermaid-y" shade. Same goes for highlights, but I'm not stopping you.

  • Clothing makes little difference, but wearing shades of tropical/cool colors help.

  • Have mermaid-themed jewelry~ For example, I have a shell pendant, a silver shell bracelet, and a shell clasp.

  • Makeup is optional since mermaids are bare natural, but your living on land, and forget worrying about water-proof makeup! Go blast your face with shimmery makeup, if you will, haha ^_^

  • Be hydrated and well-fed! Mermaids are healthy creatures, but that's no excuse 'cause everyone should be healthy.
